Where can I get help with studying the "Learn 2 Lead" modules?
Check out this link to the Learn 2 Lead page. Click on the arrow next to the chapter for NEW audio.
Do girls have to cut there hair?
No, but it needs to be pinned back aware from your face and above you collar, like in a bun. If it is too short for a bun, put it in a pony tail then use a hair net (yes the lunch lady kind) to wrap it into a bun shape and pin it there. If you have long hair, I find the cobination of max hold hair gel, hair pins, hair net and the amazing Hairagami to be a life saver CLICK HERE

Whatever you use, it should be the same color as your hair and should show very little (no bows or fancy stuff, sorry)

Is there somewhere I can get help to study for the Aerospace tests?

Absolutely! First, Check out the national website under AEROSPACE EDUCATION. You will find lots of information there but if you don't find anything that fits your learning style (and that is the key), simply go to Google and search. There are over 1200 cadet squadrons throughout the USA and some have developed some very good power points, study guides, study games and such. If there is one particular subject you have trouble with, try searching YouTube for a video that explains it (ie. 4 Stroke Reciprocating Engine.) Here is a link I found for Module 2.

How do I fold my BDU sleeves like the other cadets?
Ascension cadets take the wearing of the uniform seriously so learning how to do the basics will certainly help you. Watch this video and know that it won't be perfect the first time, you'll have to practice, so don't get frustrated - Just Do It!

Where can I get help learning drill movements?
Great idea! Looking sharp as a group is part of the Esprit de Corp that is Ascension Composite Squadron. This comes with practice, individually and as a group. When we travel, your Cadet in charge may have you "fall in" at a rest stop and march around, we take every opportunity to practice. So if you are looking for ways to improve, you are already well on your way to fitting in with the Flight. Check out these videos:

What is this "Encampment" thing I keep hearing about?
Oh probably the scariest, most exciting, most challenging and most fun week you will ever encounter. One thing is for sure. You may go to four or five encampments over your C.A.P. years but none will be the same as your first! Take a look at some videos of encampments around the country.

Because encampments are held on Barksdale Air Force Base, cadets not only get a real feel for what life in the military is like, they also get to experience things that the average teen will never have the opportunity to do. For that matter, there are some things that our cadets get to do that even the Base MPs are jealous of!

So what does all this mean? Isn't CAP just about flying?
No way! And if that is what you are looking for, you probably just need to find a flight instructor. Being in the Civil Air Patrol is far more than just flying. The cadet program aims to turn youth volunteers into tomorrows leaders and in order to do that it takes commitment and dedication. The Senior members could have a Senior Squadron but this is a Composite Squadron because the Senior members in this squadron have a commitment to our cadets and in return the cadets commit to the program. Its about learning something you have never learned, doing something you have never done and helping someone you have never met to become someone you have never been and never let go!
