Emergency Services is one of the primary missions of Civil Air Patrol. It is an integral part of our squadron activities. If you hear us talk about a SAREX, this is a Search And Rescue Exercise that usually takes place over a weekend. Senior members and Cadets train for Emergency Services although cadets are not permitted to train for aircrew positions until they are 18. Otherwise, Cadets train no differently than Senior members.
To get started in Emergency Services, all members must first complete Level I, then study for and take the General Emergency Services Test or GES116. Here are the links:
