We are glad that you have decided to apply for membership in our Cadet Program. The Senior Members of Ascension Composite are very proud of our Cadet Corp as they have maintained a certain Esprit de Corp that earned a high level of respect. Our cadets have a commitment to excellence and welcome new members who will share that commitment.
If you are preparing to submit application for membership, you should have already:
[ ] Visited our meetings at least three(3) consecutive weeks (brought a parent or guardian to one)
[ ] Have a good idea of the different types of activities we do during meetings
[ ] We hope you have started to develop so friendships with other cadets.
[ ] Have a fairly good understanding of the Esprit de Corp of our cadets.
Before you will be considered for membership, you must meet the Grooming Standards.
**These grooming standards are not optional and must be meet in order to wear the USAF style uniforms and remain a member in good standing.
You should already be looking into attending the next Weekend Cadet Training Education Program (CTEP) weekend in both Spring and Fall, and the next 10-Day Encampment (Winter in Florida or Summer in Louisiana) as these are not optional for cadets who are committed to be successful in the program.
Below, you will find a step by step "To Do" List that we hope will help:
STEP #1: Complete and Print Application and bring to the next meeting for Signature. Applications must be signed by a member of the Command Staff.
You have two options for submitting the application:
Option #1: (Recommended) Fax the Application to NHq and call with Credit Card Payment
Call Nation Headquarters Member Services Dept. (877) 227-9142 option 1
to get fax number and instructions and to provide Credit Card Information
Option #2 Attach a check payable to "Civil Air Patrol," in the amount of $30
Mail the signed application to National Headquarters

STEP #2: Place Order with Vanguard for uniform accouterments (total less than $__)

STEP #5: Upon Receipt of the Vanguard order, have patches sewn on BDU uniform in accordance with CAPR 39-1 (page32.) USAF style uniforms may only be worn when uniform AND cadet grooming is in compliance with this standard, clean, pressed and neat.
NOW! At this point you should be on the Squadron Roster and should have received an email from NHq. If you are computer savy, you can log in and go through the steps to gain access to eServices. Otherwise, contact the Cadet Recruting and Retention Officer (Tressitt) or your assigned mentor and set a time to have him/her step you through the process. A library is a good place to accomplish this if you do not have a computer at home.
