Commander Collins: We are currently in negotiations with the Airport Authority for "in-Kind" service agreement to renew our lease. As you may know, we have been doing work around the airport to pay for lease. They have changed it up a little and this has to go all the way up to NHq then back down through the Wing CC. In the mean time we will continue to put the trash out on Mondays and ensure the building is left clean and maintain the bathrooms at the end of the Hanger Building. Cooperation and Assistance is requested.
Cadet Programs –
- Importance of Confirming attendance at activities:
- We now have 14 cadets ACTIVE and we often have a very high participation rate for activities
- Our van seats Driver plus 11. If we have 12 or more cadets and/or seniors planning to attend, we need to give Commander Collins time to arrange to use another squadron’s van.
- This is NOT A PROBLEM but we need to have accurate numbers and need to plan!
NOTE: It would not be good if we borrowed a van because we needed 1 more spot and then one person just did not show up.
- Rough Count for Competition is 16 people and Commander has made a request to CCCS for use of their van. I need a hard number of those planning to attend.
- Leaving 2/18 and returning 2/20, 2 nights at Barksdale, Est Money needed per cadet is $50 for the weekend.
- 9 cadets and 2 Seniors were certified in CPR/AED and First Aid this weekend
- We were invited to attend a Military Ball hosted by Pontchartrain squadron March 19. I need a head count.
- FYI: LeJuenes Cleaners on Burnside offers military discounts – present ID.
FOCUS TOPIC: Core Values/ Character Development
- What are the CORE VALUES? Respect / Integrity / Volunteer Service / Excellence (Thank you Cadet Airman Pike)
- What are the differences is expectations of Phase I cadets and Phase II cadets with regard to the Core Values?
- Phase I – Display knowledge of the Core Values
- Phase II – Maintain the Core Values and teach new cadets.
- Senior Members – Of course, we should set the example for the cadets.
NOTE: Phase I goes through C/SSgt. All of our Cadet Staff are in Phase II now.
- Tonight the cadets are wearing the USAF style blues. They have almost all heard what they call the “Right Shoulder” speech from C/CC Delbasty where he stresses behavior and wear of the uniform. FYI The US Flag is on the Right Shoulder of the BDU uniform.
- Tonight’s Core Value presentation is simply a Music Video, cadets come close so you can see and hear this.
