REPORTS:
Counter Drug / Comms.: Major Brummett reports still no money from Congress for CD missions and nothing big with Comms. National is tossing around ideas about nets and stuff but nothing earth shattering.
Aerospace Education: Major Smith reminded us that we are going to try to take a spin on the Hover Craft next AE Meeting.
Safety: Capt Attuso reviewed some statistics from the most recent Safety Newsletter from National. All stats were positive with a significant improvement and in some cases elimination of incidents. Capt Attuso also reminds us that the online reporting is also for suggestions and that now we report "Close Calls" as well so we can learn from these too.
Cadet Programs: Still getting ready for CG Competition. Nothing new to report.
Commander: Lt Col Collins reports that they are still in negotiations with the airport authority. Their are some new people and the AA is short on funds so they are still trying to get us to take on duties which have been provided under contract with another company. Many of these duties are questionable with regard to insurance. We may need to look at other avenues for payment of rent. (This discussion continued among Senior members after the General Meeting)
SAFETY BRIEFING: Operational Risk Management
Cadet Safety Officer did a good job of reviewing the concepts of ORM and all are encouraged to go online and take the full ORM course and test.
We are proud of how this cadet not only handle the briefing but the unexpected bomb we dropped that he would facilitate the whole meeting. Well Done C/SSgt Pike.
GENERAL MEETING ADJOURNED @ 19:25
CADET MEETING:
Focus Topic: Emergency Services / ICS100 overview
Major Moeller gave an overview of ICS100 which is a FEMA / NIMS course everybody is required to take as part of Emergency Service Qualifications.
Lt Pike closed by advising those in the class that this DOES NOT count as ICS100. You must take the course online and pass the test in order for it to count.
Lt. Ravey advised that it is not a short course, allow yourself a few hours to go through the online course.
Emergency Services ran over so cadets did not hit the Drill pad until 20:25. Color Guard spent a little time practicing and we did not get out of the airport until close to 21:00 (target time is 20:30)
