ANNOUNCEMENT: Cadet Commander / Cadet Staff Position

Due to extensive workload his Junior year and recognizing the importance of maintaining a high GPA as well as participating fully in JROTC, where he Commanders 3 different teams, C/2LT Tressitt felt that, at this time, he is not able to give the position of Cadet Commander the attention needed. Therefore, effective 24 September 2012, C/2LT Tressitt has stepped down from the position of Cadet Commander for Ascension Composite Squadron.

Tressitt contacted me Monday and expressed his concerns, then met with Commander Brummett and I on Monday evening to discuss his situation. We are in full support of his decision. A good leader who knows how to balance his priorities and does not wait until things are out of control to make adjustments. Tressitt advised the cadet flight of his decision and that he will take a few weeks to balance things and will be back. When he returns, he will take a position of leadership that will allow him to support the staff and continue to work toward his personal goals.

At this time the Cadet Commander position will remain vacant. Flight Commander, C/CMSgt Gaudin is now the highest ranking cadet in the squadron and C/CMSgt Blank and C/CMSgt Delbasty remain in the positions of First Sargent ('Top") and Flight Sargent respectively. Please direct all questions through this cadet chain of command.

All Phase II cadets are eligible to function as NCO/IC (formerly referred to as CIC or Cadet In Charge) for large activities and encouraged to do so.
Phase I - who are C/SSgts, are eligible to function as NCO/IC for smaller activities and are encourage to do so.
It is through these opportunities that you learn, practice and sharpen your leadership skills. We can not otherwise evaluate your abilities or help you improve if you do not try. To avoid confusion, NCO/IC's will report directly to DCC regarding their assigned activity but will copy the Flight Commander in on ALL emails.

Please refer to the EVENTS SCHEDULE UPDATED 9/27/2012 on the blog to see who is assigned NCO/IC for activities and where we still need volunteers.
